What if you could transform your space without rearranging your busy schedule, spending over your budget, or committing to a full remodel? Great news- all this and more is possible with the magic of e-Design!

Let me get a little personal for a moment. I grew up in Anderson, IN...pretty much born & raised. I lived a couple miles from downtown in a “not so nice” neighborhood. My parents made our house work with DIY projects & some paint. Our kitchen was tiny, outdated & not functional whatsoever. Unfortunately, remodeling wasn’t an option for us and interior design wasn’t something we could utilize. Yet there I was with a passion for pretty things and helping people; I wanted to design for everyone no matter the space, budget, or the timeline.

Here at Winland Designs we really believe interior design is for EVERYONE, meaning we have a huge passion for e-Design. If you’ve never heard of e-design, you’ve come to the right place. We would love to break down the process and hopefully inspire you to see your space as design-worthy!

Simply defined: e-Design is a quick, virtual, alternative approach if you don’t want to fully commit to full-service interior design services. The process is straight-forward and the timeline is quick (under 2 weeks for your initial design concept!). We have 5 simple steps to our e-Design process....so let’s dive in!

A bed with fluffy pillows and a white comforter. There are two lamps on nightstands on either side of the bed.

Because our goal is to make design services as accessible as possible- we offer several different packages that are completely customizable to your needs. You can view our packages that we offer showing pricing/details so you can select what would work best for your budget and needs. If you don’t see what you need or you need a little less/more help- you can skip to step 2 to fill out our design questionnaire and we will customize a package to meet your specific needs! Click here to view our package options.

A wooden coffee table with several books on it. One book is open and a magnifying glass rests on top of it

Communication is KEY when it comes to any design project, no matter how big or small. We want to get to know you, your space & your style so we can create a tailored design concept/space plan just for you. Our questionnaire asks the following:

  • What space can we help you design? Bedroom, office, etc...
  • Where are you located?
  • Why are you redesigning your space? Moving, new baby, etc…
  • How finished is your space?
  • Current furniture/decor pieces you are keeping?
  • New furniture/decor pieces you want to add?
  • How soon are you looking to complete your project?
  • What is your budget for purchasing products?
  • What should the mood of the space be?
  • What are your favorite stores for furniture, decor, & clothes?
  • Share inspiration that reflect your style.
  • What are your color preferences?
  • Do you have any specific colors you’d like to see in the space?
  • Provide photos of the space.
  • Who do you share the space with?
  • Do you rent or own?
  • What kind of home do you live in?
  • Any final notes for your designer to consider?
  • How did you hear about us?

This might seem like a LOT of questions but the process is simple, fast & you are able to edit answers, go back to questions & even choose to answer some questions later.

Step 1. Client Questionnaire

A bathroom with a black and white patterned wallpaper on the wall and a rectangular mirror with a black frame mounted above a sink.

Step three is one of the most vital questions on our design questionnaire- this is such an important step because we build your design off of it. The more photos we have, the more we can visualize your space and get a strong feel for your floor plan. Measurements can seem daunting but it’s super easy, we promise!

Floor plan sketch example
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     Floor plan sketch example

  • Overall width/length of the space
  • Distance from any windows/doors to the walls and to any structural elements (other windows, doors, etc.)
  • Width/height of any windows/doors
  • Ceiling height, including any structural elements (beams, skylights, vaults, etc.)
  • Width/height of any structural elements (fireplaces, built-ins, openings, etc.)
  • Distance of any structural elements to walls/windows/doors/etc.

If we need any further measurements- we’ll request and break down what those are, so don’t worry about missing any.

The candle is in a glass container and has a white label.

Okay, this is the most fun and creative step! We will kindly ask you to upload any photos of inspiration spaces, decor, or furniture that speaks to your style. You can also link any websites or Pinterest boards that reflect what you want your space to look or feel like. If you aren’t sure where to find inspiration- here’s some helpful places to begin looking:

  • Pinterest…..we LOVE Pinterest
  • Instagram
  • Architectural Digest or any interiors magazine

Here it is- the moment you’ve been waiting for! You’ve answered all the questions, found your style, got to know us, and now your unique design can begin to happen. Using all the information you have provided us, we will begin your e-Design package and have it ready in under 2 weeks- straight to your inbox.

What is a Design Concept?

Design Concept Example
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     Design Concept Example

The design concept is a collage of sorts that features sourced furniture, decor, lighting, paint selections, materials, etc. This is our visual representation so that you can see how all of the pieces work together. If you find that there are pieces you aren’t in love with, we’ll make up to 2 revisions to the design based upon your detailed feedback.

What is a Floor Plan?

Floor Plan Example
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     Floor Plan Example

We will lay out your floor plan which shows you the most optimal layout for furniture, rugs, lighting, etc. Following this layout will make your space functional for the daily routines of you and your family. It also gives you a detailed map for placement of future furniture pieces you may bring in. This is why your room measurements are so important- we need to ensure that all of your new/existing furniture pieces will fit in the space and work well together!

What does the Product list include?

Product Shopping List Example - This is where you’ll find additional detailed photos, dimensions, quantities, pricing, and a clickable link to shop!
Product Shopping List Example - This is where you’ll find additional detailed photos, dimensions, quantities, pricing, and a clickable link to shop!

This list contains pricing, product details (including quantities, material specifications, manufacturer, etc.), dimensions and clickable links that make purchases super quick and easy. You can even “approve/decline” specific items directly on the product as well as provide feedback for us! Everything you need is right here.
