It’s a new year and you know what that meannnnssssss….the reveal of SW and BM’s color of the year! It’s always fun to see what the color predictions are and how they will show up in the design world. So let’s get RIGHT into it and see what colors are setting the tone for 2022!

1. EVERGREEN FOG by Sherwin-Williams

SW’s color of 2022 is this subtle and calming green. Using this color in any space will bring in color without being overwhelming or too trendy. Honestly, this green could even be considered a neutral! We actually used Evergreen Fog in one of our mudroom projects on the custom cabinetry (shown above, left); the funny thing is that we had no idea this would become color of the year!

OUR RECOMMENDATION: if you want to try out this green but aren’t quite sure about painting an entire room- why not go the DIY route? Pick up some vases, plant pots, etc. from your local thrift store & paint them! Super easy and a great way to try out Evergreen Fog in your space.

2. OCTOBER MIST by Benjamin Moore

There seems to be a green theme going on! BM’s 2022 color winner is this beautiful sage that was inspired by flower stems. This green will give any space a calm yet refreshing look and be the perfect background to any design style. BM also released a 2022 Color Trend Collection (which October Mist is a part of) which can be described as “harmonious yet diverse, reliable yet whimsical, and meditative yet eclectic.”

OUR RECOMMENDATION: if you want to level up your powder room- this color is perfect! The subtle sage will bring in a spa feel & impress any guests.

Are these beautiful paint colors getting you all fired up about wanting to makeover a space in your home? Sometimes all we need is a simple paint refresh to switch things up a bit. Contact us at emilee@winlanddesigns.com for more information on how we can best work together.
